Meneham's story is that of a village of peasants-fishers-goomonists who seem to have arisen from sand. Blotti behind huge blocks of granite, this hamlet of the Legends Coast has been beautifully restored to witness the harsh and solidarity life of the Bretons of the past. The landscape here is breathtaking: a mixture of dazzling white sand, turquoise waters and fantastically shaped rocky chaos.
Today, it is a protected site and a real stopover out of time. Whether you're a rock explorer or a lover of the open air, the paths that flow between the houses with thatched roofs and the sea will take you elsewhere. The site offers stunning views of the wild coastline of Pays Pagan, where the strength of the elements is felt at every step.
Legends and must see on the way
This mystical place, where granite seems to have been thrown by giants, is at the heart of the Legends Coast. Walking between these colossal rocks, the imagination wraps up and one expects a fantastic creature to emerge behind each block.
The Mystery of the House of Guards:
The inescapable symbol of the site is the famous Guard Corps, this little stone house literally stuck between two gigantic rocks. It is said that it was built under Louis XIV to monitor the sea and watch for enemy ships. Local legend says that the rocks themselves protect the building from the most violent storms. It's an incredible spectacle that reminds us how much man has had to adapt to a powerful and sometimes capricious nature.

My Practical Tips for Families
The Meneham site is a perfect destination for children, as it offers exceptional freedom of movement:
- A good one Windbreaker is essential because the air from the sea is lively. Shoes with good grip are recommended for those who want to climb on the rocks.
- The village itself is very accessible in stroller thanks to its wide grassy and sandy aisles flat. On the other hand, to access the waterfront or venture into the rocky chaos, the Baby carrier is much more practical.

Photo gallery: the views not to be missed
Do not leave without your digital memory! The perfect spot for a successful photo is of course the Guard corps between its rocksespecially at sunset when granite takes on orange hues. The fine sand beach just below also offers magnificent shots with its rocks isolated in clear water.
What I like:
Located in the land of Leon, Meneham is for me the ideal place when I need a good bowl of fresh air. Here, I felt like I was reuniting with my childly soul by seeing these great rocks that I loved so much to climb; Now it's my kids I see playing adventurers trying to get to the tops of these granite blocks that have seen so many stories at their feet. The small village of Meneham was accurately restored in order to reconstruct the small fishing village that used to be there. Now, after enjoying the iodized air of the Channel, you can enjoy tasty pancakes and find artisanal shops.
