My Practical Tips for Families
Brest is very well visited with children, thanks to its modern transport network and its large spaces:
- Good sneakers are recommended, because even if the tramway helps a lot, you can walk between different sites.
- Unlike hiking trails, the city is very accessible. However, to get into the cable car or to move through the sometimes paved port areas, the Baby carrier remains your best ally. It's more compact to sneak into the exhibitions of Oceanopolis!

Do not leave without your digital memory! The perfect spot for a successful photo is without a doubt the cable car crossing, which offers an incredible angle of view on the national navy. For a more "marine" cliché, the bottom of Siam street facing the harbour is a safe value.
What I like:
As the band Matmatah or Miossec so well sing, Brest possesses a true soul. It's a city where everyone can count. For the partyers, with its bars both street of Siam and on the port. But for all those who love walking and strolling like me, all the streets will tell you a story, from the rue de Saint-Malo, which kept its pre-war soul, to rue Jean-Jaurès and its shops.
